Over the past 25 years, the landscape of investing has evolved significantly, with Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) criteria and Impact Investing emerging as key considerations for investors. This approach has gained traction as investors recognise that non-financial factors can influence long-term performance and stability.
Impact Investing goes a step further by seeking to generate positive social and environmental impacts alongside financial returns. This strategy aligns investments with values, addressing issues such as climate change, social inequality, and corporate ethics. The rise of ESG and Impact Investing can be attributed to increasing awareness of global challenges, pressure from stakeholders for more responsible business practices, and evidence that sustainable investments can yield competitive returns. As a result, ESG and Impact Investing have become highly sought-after strategies, reflecting a broader shift towards more conscientious and forward-thinking investment approaches.
