Balkan Night at Koninklijke IGC
On the 13th of January, the Eastern Europe & Central Asia Table will be celebrating the Old New Year according to the Julian calendar. Continuing the tradition started at the Geelvinck Hinlopen Huis, since 2006 the event takes place at the KIGC in the heart of Amsterdam. This year marks its 30th anniversary and focuses on the rich Balkan music and traditions.
* 20.00 – 20:30, Club Room, 1st Floor: Béla Bartók– Romanian Christmas Songs and Romanian Dances, performed by Vital Stahievitch, concert pianist born in 1980 in Minsk and currently living in The Netherlands. Vital teaches at the Amsterdam Conservatory and gives concerts in The Netherlands and abroad. (www.stahievitch.com)
* 20.30 - 21.30, Main Room, 2nd Floor: Performance of Davor Stehlik, internationally renowned jazz guitarist from Serbia, who has shared the stage with many acclaimed musicians and is a successful teacher and bandleader in Amsterdam (www.davorstehlik.com).
* 20.30 - 22.00, Main Room: Victoria Odobesku, a multi-talented musical prodigy who was born in Moldova and has been captivating audiences with her voice since the age of two. She is a winner of numerous competitions, composer and a great performer.
* 21:00, Main Room: Presentation of the Club trip for the year 2023, by Mrs Natalia Didier-Konstantinova, chair of the Art & Culture Table and committee member of the Eastern Europe & Central Asia Table.
* 21:30- 23:30, Club room: Duo La Vita - Rauf Berman (violin) and Margarita Spilman (viola) will play traditional Eastern European, Jewish and Balkan melodies.
* 22.00 - 01.00, Main Room: Balkan Music Kitchen - finest Balkan folk and pop party hits selected by DJ Dr. Goldfinger and DJ Nympho.
* 00.00, Main Room: Toast with typical Balkan Slivovitz to the New Year, by the chair of the Eastern Europe & Central Asia Table, Mrs Heleen over de Linden.
During the whole evening in the Hall, 2nd Floor: Fashion presentation by Natasa Karceva, designer from North Macedonia (www.alaparel.mk)
